Stensbølgård farm

Stensbølgård is a family-run farm that is today managed by the fifth and sixth generation, Kirsten, Johan and their son Morten. The farm is located in the beautiful Hornsherred region in Lejre municipality nestled within the small village of Kyndeløse between Roskilde fjord and Isefjorden. 

There is always plenty of work at Stensbølgård and Johan, Kirsten and Morten together with various employees are kept busy with tasks on the farm. Together, they lovingly take care of roughly 80 organic cows, calves, heifers and steers. Furthermore Stensbølgård has about 350 organic hens accommodated in fancy mobile hen houses. Both animals system help manage and graze approx. 120 hectares of organic agricultural land based in the Zealand region. 

Stensbølgård farm cultivates vegetables on 5 hectares of land. They have a wide range of vegetables and herbs spanning between 50 and 100 different varieties, grown throughout the season. In the farm greenhouse poly tunnel, seedlings are carefully nursed to supply the farm with future crops and also houses delicious tomatoes, chilis and herbs in the warmer months. Members are invited to drop by Stensbølgård farm shop, where an excellent selection of vegetables, eggs and beef from the farm is sold.

Most vegetables are harvested and delivered directly to consumers, canteens, schools and restaurants. In order for Stensbølgård to deliver high quality, super fresh and tasty produce, the farm ensures that their products are delivered the same day as they are harvested. Many of our members agree that being able to receive vegetables this fresh, is a delight both to be tasted and smelled, without the wasteful packaging. It is important for the family to provide fresh quality vegetables, regardless of shape or size.
